Pastoral Nihilist, stand-up poet and give-up guitarist deafly fusing wry verse, surreal banter and rickety rants. The unmissable host of Brighton's infamous Hammer & Tongue.
Jonny Fluffypunk's woeful tale of his first kiss with an inebriated punk rocker was one of the funniest things I've heard for a long time. Fantastic act!
Possessed by the spirit of a 17th century Ranter, Jonny began his ‘career’ spitting vicious political verse between bands at punk gigs until cured by a West Country shaman - since when, armed with his trusty banjolele, he has charmed audiences with his unique blend of poems; songlets; surreal banter; off-kilter observation and bitter autobiography.
A seasoned performer at gigs, festivals, schools, DSS offices and, on one occasion, in the bowels of a decommissioned Navy minesweeper, Jonny is equally at home on cabaret, poetry and alternative comedy stages.
Performing regularly throughout the UK, Jonny has won Poetry Slams in Brighton, Bristol, Brixton, Cirencester, Lydney and Ledbury Poetry Festival amongst others (plus 2nd place two years running in the National All-Stars Slam at the Cheltenham Literary Festival)- whilst remaining, of course, fully opposed to competition both in the Arts and life in general.
Jonny has also co-written and co-starred in a number of acclaimed ansd shortlisted spoken word shows in the Brighton Festival Fringe, has had his naïve, outsider art-style paintings exhibited several times, is experimenting with shadow-puppet theatre and super-8 cinema and frequently entertains himself by clowning in city centres without asking for money, which upsets people.
