LEAH COHEN
Founder and organiser of Write Angle, Petersfield Writers' Workshop, and Circle Theatre, Puerto Rican workshops and creative writing/thinking classes in North, South America & the UK. (Weybridge, Chelsea, Westminster,Petersfield) .
She's a professional writer; having authored three books (Chile, Colombia, Guyana) for foreign investment. was editor and freelance contributer to magazines and newspapers; had her play 'Short Stay' produced at Grace Theatre, London, (reviewed in 5 Nat'l presses including excellent review in 'Evening Standard).and plays, 'Ragdoll' and My Flossie can Stand on Her Head', nearly produced in Chichester Festival., 'poems in 'Poems on the Buses'. She directed a production of the Orson Welles 'War of the Worlds' radio programme; sang, danced on stage. Her proudest achievements are as founder and first president of the Art Students League (La Liga Estudiantes de Arte de San Juan) in Puerto Rico, now one of the foremost art institutions there. Also, having inspired husband Jake to write poetry.
She loves her cats, photography (see her work) and people, volunteered for the Petersfield Citizens Advice Bureau (see her photo in the article on the left), Personal Support Unit in the Royal Courts of Justice, London. She was keyworker in a refuge for victims of DV, and Islington Victim Support.
Leah has thrice performed poetry for 3 minutes in London's Chelsea Arts Club - for which she got a free meal and wine. 'The most I ever got paid for my poetry', and she's had exhibitions of her art work there as well as private exhibitions.
Leah has had several poems pu blished on the online Poetry magazine, I'm Not a Silent Poet' and short stories in 'New London Magazine'

JAKE CLARET
Write Angle's compere, he is currently writing a family history and a childrens book.
He's written short stories, and books and articles on accountancy and business, talked on platforms (not station but conference!) in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Pakistan, Italy, Sweden and Uzbekistan. |
