Rob is a Dudley-born comic poet, humourist and singer from North Cornwall. He writes all his own material.
He has published two books of his performance material. The most recent one is called Distressed. His first book was Men From Mars In Bumping Cars and he has a DVD/CD, Rob Barratt Live at Boscastle Village Hall.
His act combines clever word-play with satire, verse, song and audience participation. He deals with such important topics as second homes, squid, distressed furniture, data-driven education, Neanderthals and why he doesn't want to swim with dolphins but, beneath the humour, lurk serious issues.
In recent years, he has appeared at folk, literature and arts festivals all over the UK and in Australia and Ireland.
Reviews:
“This is not only clever but I think it’s very funny” (Mike Harding)
“His head is well and truly located in ‘Planet Barratt,’ clearly a place of wonderfully bizarre inspiration.“ (Coventry Telegraph)
“Mind-bending poetry” (Twickfolk, London)
“So clever, it’s daft“
(Telltales, Falmouth, Cornwall)
“Absolutely outstanding" (Bewdley Book Week)
